The PubMedster application is a mobile interface into the Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System Online (MEDLINE).
MEDLINEs bibliographic database of information is derived from academic journals whose breadth includes the fields of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, veterinary medicine, and health care. It also compiles much of the literature in biology, biochemistry and molecular evolution. In total, it is comprised of more than 22 million records and is made freely available by the U.S. National Library of Medicine.
MEDLINE is indexed with Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). PubMedster taps into Meshs potential by utilizing boolean search terms which effectively filters search results.
- PubMedster retrieves lists of citations and, if available, free full text articles from PubMed Central.
- Quickly retrieve related articles, sorted in descending order of similarity.
- Search results can be emailed, printed or copied to the clipboard.
- LinkOuts connect to free full text articles if available or to the publishers website where qualified subscribers can log in and view full text articles.
